Microsoft Surface Studio vs iMac 2017: Which Would Be The Better Device?

Microsoft surprised many with the launch of the Surface Studio. The device seems to be a natural competitor for Apple's all-in-one PC the iMac. After the new threat, there are rumors that Apple is attempting to get ahead of the competition with an iMac 2017 refresh.

The iMac has not received any updates for long and as such some feel there will be major overhaul when it comes to the iMac 2017.

From the design perspective, the Surface Studio places the inner components at the base according to Tech Radar. In the case of iMac 2017, similar to earlier models the components are accepted to be kept on the back of the screen. Again, when it comes to thickness, the iMac 2017 is anticipated to beat the Microsoft Surface Studio. However, according to rumors, the Surface Studio should be taller and sleeker.

Looking under the hood, the Microsoft PC is fuelled by the sixth generation Intel i5 and for the higher variant, is powered by Intel i7 processor. In the case of iMac 2017,  the expectation is for the Kaby Lake processors to debut in the new devices. There is the probability of  AMD based Polaris processors in the lower variants of iMacs according  .So the iMacs are expected to have better performance than the Surface Studios according to BGR.

From the display perspective, the iMacs are expected to have the higher screen resolution and higher Pixels per Inch.

From the  internal storage capacity and RAM capacity, the Apple product might be looking to be  bettering the current internal storage capacity and RAM capacity of the  Microsoft product. Again, from the cost perspective, the iMac 2017 is expected to beat the Microsoft product.

From what we know, the Apple iMac 2017 could provide some stiff competition to the Microsoft Surface Studio. Stay tuned as the final verdict will be dropped upon release.
