"Black Mirror" is one of the top-rated TV shows on Netflix; and though its Season 3 has just been released last October, many are already looking forward for Season 4.

Rumors are rife that "Black Mirror" Season 4 is likely to include a spinoff to San Junipero, exploring more into the corporation that runs the virtual world. However, the new episode might deal with a new city which could indicate that Gugu Mbatha-Raw's Kelly and Mackenzie Davis' Yorkie will not be a part of the possible sequel.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "San Junipero mysteriously plays out like a star-crossed romance for young lovers Yorkie (Mackenzie Davis) and Kelly (Gugu Mbatha-Raw)." However, viewers later found out that it is a "nostalgia therapy and a virtual reality where the older and dying Yorkie and Kelly can visit by uploading their consciousness to a cloud."

In an interview with Owen Harris the director of the series said that if there will be a spinoff for the "Black Mirror" Season 4, "Charlie Brooker will be writing it."

"It'd be nice wouldn't it? It'd be fun to do a San Junipero sequel. But you have to remember that if there is a sequel, Charlie Brooker will be writing it. He'll go all Black Mirror on it and he might not want to do two happy endings!," he said.

However, the return to "San Junipero" might probably shy away from Yokie and Kelly and instead explore darker aspects of that certain reality.

"Whether we make one, I don't know. I would love to. If you think about it, once you buy into San Junipero it's this big world and we got a little taste of it when she goes off into the Quagmire, where she tries to find Kelly and bumps into Wes, and that's very dark place," Harris said.

"That was a sort of splinter of Black Mirror. So there is always a dark side lurking. There's probably lots of ground you could cover by that or a parallel San Junipero, wherever that might be," he added.

"Black Mirror" Season 4 is said to have 10 episodes, which is more than the number of the other seasons.

"Black Mirror" Season 4 is expected to be announced next year, but its showrunners are yet to confirm as to whether or not there will be a spinoff to San Junipero.
