Samsung is rumored to release the Galaxy Note 8 device in August 2017 with excellent specs like 4K display, powerful Snapdragon chipset, and much more -- all expected to lower the negative image created by the failure of the Galaxy Note 7.

Below we have pitted the upcoming device with the Huawei Mate 9 and Apple iPhone 7 Plus in order to help you decide whether to wait for the new device or choose from the other two options available.

To start with, the Huawei Mate 9 consists of a metallic back with two color-matched plastic panels at the top and bottom for the antennas. On the other hand, the iPhone 7 Plus sports a Series 7000 Aluminum chassis similar to its earlier installments. Also, it consists of the antenna bands on the top and bottom ends along with dust and water resistant bodies. It features a single Lightning port instead of the 3.5mm headphone jack. Besides, the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is expected to feature a double curved chassis along with a fingerprint and iris scanner for additional security.

In terms of display, the Huawei device sports a gigantic 5.9-inch screen with LCD display and 1080 pixels resolution. The iPhone 7 Plus features a 5.5-inch screen with LED-backlit IPS LCD display panel and 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution onboard. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is touted to consist of a 5.7-inch screen size along with a 4k resolution display panel.

As far as the performance-related specs are concerned, the Huawei Mate 9 consists of an octa-core Huawei Kirin 960 chipset along with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage option. The iPhone 7 Plus sports Apple's A10 processor along with 2 GB RAM and internal storage options of 32 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB. Alternatively, the Galaxy Note 8 is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processor with 8 GB RAM and internal storage capacity of 256 GB onboard.

Furthermore, the Mate 9 sports a dual camera setup with a 12-megapixel and 20-megapixel monochrome rear cameras with OIS and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. On the other hand, the iPhone 7 Plus consists of  dual 12-megapixel rear cameras where one of the cameras is alike the wide-angle lens unit in the iPhone 7, whereas the second camera is a telephoto lens, which provides the user with 2x optical zoom and big depth of field. However, there is no information available on the camera specs of the Galaxy Note 8.

Based on the reports, even though the Huawei Mate 9 has the upper hand in terms of display and camera specs, all the three devices have some peculiar niche to offer. Hence, choosing a device will depend on your requirements.
