Tom Clancy's "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" will feature one of the largest open world maps for games released in 2017. The latest news dwarfs previous open world maps featured in "Fallout 4" and "Skyrim."
Team Of Game Developers Travel to Bolivia for Research
For fans of the game oblivious to the map's size, Ubisoft has revealed that it will cover 21 regions, all of which are set in Bolivia. According to Polygon, the open world map features unique towns, waterways and areas. "Ghost Recon: Wildlands," will also feature 11 unique biomes within the 21 regions of the map.
Ubisoft had to send a 30-man team to Bolivia to learn more about the country's diversity. The team of developers led by Benoit Martinez had to stay for two weeks in the country to gather references for the title. Thanks to the team's hard work, "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" will be the largest open-world game Ubisoft has ever made.
Game Demo Not As Impressive?
Gamespot had access to an exclusive demo of "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" earlier this year. Based on the review published on June 14, 2016, the demo failed to impress the website. However, Ubisoft will release a "Wildlands Beta" before the game hits the market. Gamespot's review offered players a hint of what to expect in Ubisoft largest open world game to date.
According to Gamespot, Ubisoft Paris' demo failed to deliver a recognizable core gameplay. The game lacked a distinct visual identity compared to the "Far Cry" series, which is also published by Ubisoft. The website added that improvements will make the game better, although the article did note that the demo featured an earlier version of the title.
"Ghost Recon: Wildlands" will feature a co-op mode that gamers have clamored for in an open world environment. The action open world game is coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on March 7, 2017.
A beta will begin before the title is officially launched. Interested gamers can check out the video below from YouTuber coreross, which features the full map from "Ghost Recon: Wildlands."
