'Overwatch' Latest News and Updates: Blizzard Just Launched Christmas Event; Features New Festive Skins, Emotes, And Poses?
Charles LimSeeing as the holiday season is now well under way, several high-profile online multiplayer video games have already started to roll out their different holiday-themed events and promotions. Thus, Blizzard Entertainment rolled out its own Christmas Event yesterday, letting players access different new holiday-themed skins for their favorite characters in "Overwatch". Players of the highly popular team-based multiplayer shooter video game are now able to melt their opponents' faces, while wearing the latest festive costumes and apparel.
Blizzard originally announced the festive holiday event through the game's official Twitter account last week. While the company has not detailed the actual content during the event, several reports already revealed their different predictions. The event was expected to contain holiday-themed emotes, poses, and icons, which are all aimed at bringing out the festive mood during intense online battles.

As for new skins, a few speculation reports revealed that Torbjorn will come with a brand new Santa Clause skin. This prediction was based on previously released promotional images of the character via Twitter a few years ago, which featured the Swedish character donning a full red-and-white Santa wardrobe. Other predictions included a possible Christmas Sweater costume for players, along with skinned-out weapons that could shoot out Christmas Tree Ornaments. While Torbjorn is also likely to have received a full-blown holiday costume, other characters may only have gotten simple aesthetic re-skins --- including reindeer hats, Santa hats, or a simple red-and-green color scheme change.
"Overwatch Winter Event" is now live. Stay tuned here for more updates!
