'Shadowhunters' Season 2 Premiere Preview: What to Expect?

Rommel

"Shadowhunters" Season 2 premiere is coming in a week and it will introduce Jace (Dominic Sherwood) in a very different shade. After its successful Season 1 finale, the show will start from where it left off. For those who are already hooked to the series, here is a sneak peek on how the story will progress and how the characters will be built up for the next "Shadowhunters" season.

Jace remains to be a captive of his father, Valentine, played by Alan Van Sprang. This is despite his pledge of loyalty to his father's mission. As Sherwood puts it in this Screener exclusive, "Jace is kind of lost and doesn't know who he is. He needs to take sides - the good or the bad?"

As per IB Times, although Jace is straight-on with his demon-fighting endeavors, he will have to join forces with people against his friends and loved ones. Joining Valentine will only make him more susceptible for enemies, not only against him but also against his father. His alliance with his father will take its toll with one of his parabatais, Alec, who will definitely feel Jace's absence moving on to the next episodes of the season. Will this force Alec to pin his anger to someone else?

"Shadowhunters" Season 2 will not be complete without delving deeper into the story of Clary, played by Katherine McNamara. Clary deals with the return of her mother changing the dynamics of her life as viewers see from Season 1. Clary now has to figure out how to deal with Luke, played by Isaiah Mustafa, and Jocelyn, played by Maxim Roy, in order to keep herself away from danger and out of the shadowhunters sights.

If there is something to look forward to for the upcoming "Shadowhunters" Season 2 premiere, it is the brewing romance of Magnus and Alec, who needs to lay out everything about their relationship.

"Shadowhunters" Season 2 premiere will be on January 2nd, 8 PM ET/PT on Freeform. For those who are excited about the new season, here is a sneak peek:
