Amidst a lot of speculations about the next-gen Apple smartphone, it has now been reported that the launch of high-end Apple iPhone 8 (possibly) will not be affected by the availability of 10nm processing chips. Previously, it was felt that these chips may impact the production and launch of these gadgets including the upcoming generation of iPads and iPhones.

TSMC, one of the companies dabbling in chip production, was reportedly facing some concrete issues in the 10nm chip production. However, the company has gone ahead and dismissed such claims, and has made us believe that things are going as per the desired schedule fixed beforehand.

This is great news and update about the upcoming iPhone 8 and/or iPhone 7S which are going to have the A11 chips. These chips are developed in TSMC 10nm process itself and even the next iPad may feature a 10nm chip. However, no official confirmation has been received from either Apple or TSMC that the 2017 line of Apple products will definitely feature the TSMC 10nm chips, but it is widely speculated in the tech world that TSMC has actually been given contracts for the same!

According to one source, TSMC has stated that the 10nm processor production is on track completely for the iPhone 8. This update has supposedly directly come from Elizabeth Sun, TSMC Corporate Communications senior director. Previously, it was reported only a few days back that both TSMC and Samsung are facing serious issues manufacturing the chips in mass production.

TSMC is also one such company that is investing research and development efforts into producing 7nm, 5nm, and 3nm technology. The timeline suggested for the production of these chips and their use in high-end devices is 2017, 2019 and 2021 respectively. However, they are joined by the likes of Samsung and Intel, who also endeavour to launch similar high-tech chips and processors.
