Japanese game developers of RPG have been known to craft the most memorable games of the genre, such as "Chrono Trigger" and the "Final Fantasy" series. A report by gamesradar brings you the best Japanese RPGs in Xbox history.

Blue Dragon

The first game in Xbox 360 to use three DVD discs, it follows a story of five friends taking place in a fictional open-world environment where they must travel to battle the evil ruler of Grand Kingdom.

Lost Odyssey

This is a game exclusive for the Xbox 360 and was developed by Mistwalker. This is an emotional game that tells the heart-breaking stories of an immortal hero from 1,000 years of being a mercenary.

Eternal Sonata

This game centers on a real composer Frederic Chopin, who died at the age of 39 years old due to tuberculosis. It envisions a world dreamed by Chopin that is influenced by his life and music.

Breath of Death 7: The Beginning

It is a retro-style comedy RPG where even the title is because there is no "Breath of Death" one to six. This game uses a combo style of battle based on player character choices with non-player characters.

Tales of Vesperia 

A game with fast action, likeable characters and a battle system that is more similar with fighting games than the traditional RPG.

Resonance of Fate

This game is set in a steampunk environment wherein battles involve guns instead of the traditional swords and magic.

Final Fantasy XIII - 2

It's a game with a non-linear plot as the player leaps through different time periods and parallel universe.

The Last Remnant

Developed by Square Enix, this title employs a unique group-battle mechanics where a player controls an entire group of characters during battle.
