Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 Leaked Images, New Details And What To Expect
Rei LantionThe Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 is arguably one of the most anticipated smartphones this year. Up until yesterday, the company remained tight-lipped on the specifics of this particular model. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella flat-out stated that the company refused to rush things, aiming only for impressive specs for their touted "ultimate mobile device."
However, images of the Microsoft Surface Phone were leaked on Weibo, a Chinese social media site. Aside from causing a massive stir in the online community, the images were clear enough to provide some interesting physical features of the as-yet-unreleased Microsoft smartphone. But whether or not these pictures depict an older prototype of the Surface Phone or the actual finished product remains unconfirmed.
Features: Brick-Like, Almost Phablet Sized. Although it's difficult to determine, given the lack of scale, the phone seems to be a bit bigger than expected, bordering on phablet sizes rather than standard smartphone. It is, however, considerably slim.
It also sports a very blocky, brick-like design and grille speakers at both the top and bottom. Tech News Inc. compares the overall look of a Lumia device.
Camera: Carl Zeiss Lens. The Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 also boasts of a large camera with a Carl Zeiss tag, which already promises high-definition images. Microsoft engraved near the flash.
Other visible features include three capacitive touchscreen buttons, the standard "back", "home" and "recent" options plus an earphone jack at the top. Best guess puts the port at 3.5mm. At the bottom is a USB Type-C port for charging, file transfer, and more.
The Ultimate Mobile Device. Although a lot of users speculate that the phone will run on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, International Business Times points out that the Surface Phone 2017 is still presumed to be in development stage. Moreover, Microsoft has neither confirmed nor denied popular fan theory.
Regardless, the bar has been set and expectations are running high. Many are certain the Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 can go toe-to-toe with smartphone giants Apple and Samsung, but for now, tech savvies have yet to wait and see.
