'Overwatch' Forums Light Up With Debates On Tank Adjustments; Changes Coming To Roadhog's Chain Hook
Nicole T.Online game developers do still make changes within their games even if these have already been released. They can change characters and add and subtract details. However, not a lot of fans get used to these changes and sometimes, get disappointed. This is apparently what's happening in the "Overwatch" official forum now.
"Overwatch" fans are getting enraged with the changes in D. Va and Roadhog. The said changes happened at the game's public test server, wherein D. Va's health and armor pools were altered. Specifically, D. Va's former health was 200 and her armor pool 400. Now it has a 400 health and 200 armor pool. A fan pointed out that she is now more "kill-able." In addition, there were also tweaks on the fire and damage rate of her shots.
As for Roadhog, the developers reportedly revised his Chain Hook. There were some line-of-sight checks that prevented the hook to prevent hooking around corners, according to a report by MMO Games.
The said changes on these "Overwatch" tank characters left several fans disappointed and angry. A fan said that D. Va's changes didn't make sense. Another one from "Overwatch's" official thread claimed that Blizzard doesn't believe what players were telling them.
Since the criticisms have gone a bit far, the developers themselves have joined the threads and answered a few issues. Principal designer Geoff Goodman did say that Roadhog's Chain Hook will undergo changes.
"We have a fix for this coming soon onto the PTR, as well as other fixes," Goodman wrote on the thread. He also revealed that he was thinking of an effect where the target will be slowed down when hit by a Chain Hook ability.
On the other hand, Director Jeff Kaplan has also answered complaints surrounding D. Va. Kaplan answered with hard facts from the PTR sessions. He claimed that 99.74 percent of the players haven't actually played the game with the changes. Kaplan also encouraged the players to play for a few nights and experience the changes for themselves.
