Ever since Rockstar Games revealed trailer of its next installment in Grant Theft Auto series last year, Grant Theft Auto fanboys have been eagerly waiting for GTA 5 to arrive. And now it looks like that the launch is near as Rockstar uploaded two screenshots of its upcoming game and hinted that more screenshots and a new trailer is coming soon.
On its latest Asked & Answered page, Rockstar posted two screenshots of Grand Theft Auto 5. Rockstar suggested that the game is not debuting anytime soon. Grand Theft Auto 5 is a big project and it will take few more months before the game is released. However, Rockstar committed that more screenshots and a trailer can be expected in near future, if not the whole game.
"As we have said before, we have often had long gaps between asset releases on previous games and will continue to do so in the future. We are sorry if you find this frustrating, but please understand, we don't do this because we 'don't care about our fans' 'don't respect our fans' 'hate GTA fans etc' - precisely the opposite! We do it because we want to make sure we only release 100 per cent correct information, and because we want to keep plenty back for the actual game release so there are still lots of surprises when you play it," said Rockstar when asked why it does not release any information about the upcoming game.
When compared with Grand Theft Auto 4, which the game developer released in 2008, the screenshots does not show any fundamental change in the gameplay or city architecture. However, game graphics have improved a lot.
"We did, however, manage to sneak a quick screenshot out for you... it's not much, but we thought it was pretty fun. Then of course our art team said that no single shot could encapsulate the game properly, so they gave us another... We will try and get some more screens for you soon and then another trailer when we are ready."
The first screenshots shows a police chopper in the night sky. The helicopter view of the city suggests similar city architecture, buildings, trees and roads. But, with the second screenshot, we see eye-popping details with fine quality graphics. Los Santos looks a different city than Liberty City. The person enjoying the scenery, on wearing the black shirt seems to be our hero that we will be playing with in the game.
As far as the release date is concerned, the game is not coming for few more months. We hope that it comes out by the end of 2012.
