Sony Unleashes 'Horizon: Zero Dawn' Limited Edition in Japan; Later Than North America & Europe Release Though

Sporting an open world RPG niche might be an excellent push for Japan to embrace "Horizon: Zero Dawn" thus, Sony baits gamers with limited edition digital and physical copies. Sony hopes that "Horizon Zero Dawn" can capitalize on results from recent open world RPG like "Final Fantasy XV" which sold well in Japan and South Asia region.

According to Sony press release, "Horizon: Zero Dawn" pre-orders in Japan or even in North America will have the identical versions of the game later on. "Horizon: Zero Dawn" will also offer free upgrade to those with standard version going into limited edition. Anyone with "Horizon: Zero Dawn" pre-order in Japan can upgrade ahead of local release on March 3, DualShockers reported.

North America region can enjoy "Horizon: Zero Dawn" ahead on Feb. 28 while Europe-based players can grab the game the following day. Sony delayed "Horizon: Zero Dawn" in Japan for few days so they can focus on the local market and tweak marketing strategies is necessary.

So, what are unique about "Horizon: Zero Dawn" limited edition? Japan and North American versions are basically identical which features Nora gear. This limited edition "Horizon: Zero Dawn" outfit includes armor, bow and Nora trapper pack. "Horizon: Zero Dawn" limited edition will also include Carja Storm Ranger and Banuk Trailblazer outfits. The former is a nice gear for traders while the latter for travelers and excursionists.

Apart from the cool "Horizon: Zero Dawn" limited edition gears, there will be exclusive PlayStation 4 theme and digital artbook as well. Remember that both "Horizon: Zero Dawn" digital and physical limited editions have these cool freebies. Comparably, the difference between regional limited editions is the 9" Aloy Statue which is available in North America and not Japan.

"Horizon: Zero Dawn" limited edition's asking price is $59 for either Japan or North America. Standard edition costs just $10 less so limited edition is indeed a bargain, considering the freebies and gears included in it.
