Microsoft Will Likely Unveil Project Scorpio in E3 2017; Xbox Also Plans an Update
Regin OlimberioIt doesn't take a genius to guess that Microsoft is going to capitalize on E3 2017 to catapult Project Scorpio into the hyping lane. After all, E3 is the biggest gaming event of the year and a perfect avenue for Project Scorpio to taunt its "most powerful console ever" tagline.
There are strong indications that Project Scorpio is to unveil at E3, at least after programming director Major Nelson Tweets the possibility. Yes, E3 is the event where Microsoft could be bragging Project Scorpio's 6 teraflops of power, 320GB memory bandwidth and octa-core CPU.
E3 is coming in June 13, about 150 days moving forward. At least that is not so long before expectants could finally confirm where within alleged Project Scorpio pricing of $400-$500 will the console finally rest.
Make no mistake about it, Major Nelson did not deliberately give Project Scorpio away for E3 2017. His Tweet simply counts down to days leading to E3 and not confirmatory of Project Scorpio. What expectants have for now is educated guess and hope that Microsoft will indeed unveil Project Scorpio. Some including TheWolfHall are so confident of Project Scorpio unveiling that it bursts "you can even bet your house on it."
Meanwhile, another interesting development apart from Project Scorpio is another Microsoft executive Phil Spencer who Tweeted that Xbox will present something new in E3 2017. Spencer directly quote that there are goodies for Xbox costumers in June. Then he quickly padded the statement that what they are currently doing is not necessarily a retaliation to rivals Sony or Nintendo.
In the end, everything boils down to one potential night of fun ride with Project Scorpio. Microsoft is planning ahead of E3 2017 and there are too many possibilities, including deeper dive into Microsoft game mode. This recently unveiled feature allows multi-porting of uncompressed 4K on PC, Xbox One, Xbox One S and even Project Scorpio.
