All roads led to Tokyo as Nintendo finally made the official unveil of its newest and highly anticipated hybrid game console, the Nintendo Switch. Rumors and speculations about the hybrid console were finally put to rest as Nintendo unveiled Nintendo Switch in an event that was livestreamed throughout the world.

The Nintendo Switch release date was scheduled on March 3. According to the company's official announcement, the new hybrid game console will be region-free once it hits the store shelves.

The game console will be available in two configurations, the first one being the all gray with gray Joy-Con controllers and the other will have a blue and a red Joy-Con controller. The Nintendo Switch price announced at the Tokyo livestream reveal is $299.99 which is within the range of the rumored price for the hybrid game console. The earliest Nintendo Switch preorder date was scheduled on January 13.

The Nintendo Switch features and specs unveiled in the official release is that the hybrid console will have a 6.2-inch multitouch display. The Switch will have a 720p 1280x720  resolution but can peak to 1080p when docked. Though Nintendo has already revealed that that the Nintendo Switch will be powered by a custom Nvidia Tegra processor no further detail has been announced as to its specifics.

The onboard memory of the Nintendo Switch is a disappointing 32gb. Though the storage capacity may be increased through microSD cards, still the new game console is at the far end when it comes to storage compared to the other top video game consoles in the market today. Games for the switch comes in GameCards which can be viewed as a solution to the low storage of the Switch or that Nintendo intentionally reduced the game console's memory so gamers would be forced to buy the GameCards.

The Nintendo Switch battery life is said to be between 2.5-6 hours depending on the game played. The Switch can also connect to the Wi-Fi through an 802.11ac connection and can accommodate up to eight Nintendo Switch controllers at once.
