It finally did happen! FOX broadcasted a really anticipated and highly hyped episode of "The Simpsons" centered around the rap theme. This episode has been talked about for more than half of last year. The episode was titled "The Great Phatsby" and it was about a fictional high placed rapper Jay G. It is interesting to note that Jay G is arch enemies with Mr. Burns.

The episode featured original soundtrack and songs that were produced by Jim Beanz. Guest singers who contributed to the diss track of Jay G included Snoop Doog, RZA and Common. The other guest stars of "The Simpsons" were Taraji P. Henson (who last starred in "Hidden Figures") and Keegan-Michael Key. Key features as a rapped named Jazzy James. This episode was the first 1 hour long episode in "The Simpsons" and was broken in two parts. "The Great Phatsby" had a narrative voiceover with lots of adopted and borrowed creative cues. Montgomery Burns is as despicable as ever and treats Waylon Smithers as he usually does. He even asks him to get Canadian lake ice because he cannot handle store purchased ice.

The episode features usual internal and family gags between the famous and well known Simpsons family. Bart and Lisa are up to their usual antics in the overall episode. It is all about Mr. Burns remembering his old days of grand parties and celebrations. He attempts to relive these golden days with one exception: the budget is absymally low and hence, the celebration is terrible.

The episode then introduces Jay G who found his fortunes with the indirect help of Mr. Burns, who finds himself threatened by the new character's presence. The jokes are novel and funny but the show needs to get back with an extra something to live up to its own legacy. The episode starred Dan Castellaneta as Homer and Abe Simpson, Julie Kavner as Marge Simpson, Nancy Cartwright as Bart Simpson, Yeardley Smith as Lisa Simpson. Hank Azaria plays Chief Wiggum and Moe. Harry Shearer is Kirk Van Houten, Kent Brockman, C. Montgomery Burns and Waylon Smithers.
