Marvel's 'The Inhumans' TV Series Release Date & Character Updates: Does This Signal An End For 'Agents of SHIELD'?

Niyati S.

Only recently did we come to know that Marvel has decided to make "The Inhumans" TV series, instead of creating a movie franchise for the same"The Inhumans" TV series is set to feature on ABC and will have many core characters.

For a long time, it was presumed that "The Inhumans" movie will be released sometime in 2019 but the release date was removed from the Marvel Cinematic Universe's calendar altogether. Now it is clear why exactly did that happen. "The Inhumans" TV series will be handled by Scott Buck, who earned his fame through "Iron Fist" and "Dexter". "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" has been utilizing some relatively unknown characters from "The Inhumans" series but the actual series will only feature core characters from the comic book franchise.

The Hashtag Show have managed to compile official descriptions of characters from the casting sheets of "The Inhumans" TV series itself, which cover important aspects about the series. The sheets feature "regular person" names and these names all have the same first letters as the biggest characters in "The Inhumans" series. The first one up is "Broderick" who is reminiscent of the team leader Black Bolt, and is described as:

[BRODERICK] Male. 30-40. Caucasian. Can say volumes with just a look. Strong, thoughtful and private, he's unaccustomed to being questioned or feeling a need to answer to anyone, to an extent that can verge on arrogance.

Similarly, we presume that "Marjorie" is Medusa, "Marty" is Maximus the Mad and "Kevin" is Karnak! It has been reported that the first two episodes of "The Inhumans" TV series will actually be screened in the IMAX theaters for almost 2 weeks. "The Inhumans" TV series will debut on ABC on September 26.

Does this mean that the usual time-slot of Tuesdays (September 26) reserved for "Agents of SHIELD" will be given to the new show? Does this also mean that "Agents of SHIELD" will end soon? Marvel's announcement focused on the innovative marketing of playing this in IMAX theaters before the TV premiere.

"This unprecedented alliance represents a bold, innovative approach to launching great TV content for a worldwide audience," proclaimed Ben Sherwood, co-chairman, Disney Media Networks and president, Disney|ABC Television Group in a statement.
