Xbox One User Interface Updates to New Guide, Side Panel that is Optimized for Windows 10 Play Anywhere
Regin OlimberioA new Xbox One system update is going to be out for testing early next week and Microsoft taunts a new user interface and guide. Xbox's head of platform engineering Mike Ybarra provided gamers with a glimpse of the latest Xbox One software.
Gamers need not wait long for possible release date announcement too because Ybarra said that those who were Xbox Insider Program members can test the software build early next week. For those who want to see what this new Xbox One user interface looks like, they can check out Ybarra's Beam channel.
Looking at the screenshot that Microsoft presented, Xbox One is going o sport a new side panel. This overlay is going to be the new Guide for Xbox UI and hopes to be more efficient compared to the current design.
Another change is obvious in smartphone-ish clock and controller battery indicator at the upper-right corner of the user interface. These can only be shown in the home screen before but Xbox One knows better to make them visible at all times.
Meanwhile, Ybarra took on his blog post to explain that the new Xbox One user interface will coincide when Windows 10 Creator's Update rolls out. He also stressed that both PC and console versions of the Guide aims to increase performance and ease of access. Ybarra also boasts that GameDVR clips can be recorded at desired length, then access these captures through the guide.
It makes sense that updates with Xbox One and Windows 10 are getting synchronized since Play Anywhere aims to create an inter-platform design with less confusion. Further, gamers are looking forward to pick up their saved game at either Xbox One or Windows 10 with very little adjustment as possible.
There will be new Achievement tracking overlay in this Xbox One user interface update as well. Pitch in a new Cortana design, controls for background music and Gamescore Leaderboard too.
