Liam Payne is making the headlines once again; this time for teasing the return of One Direction and then making his way as a solo artist right after. Plus, how did the singer avoid a terrifying shootout at a Los Angeles nightclub?

Liam Payne is one of the members of boy band One Direction. The band was extremely popular right after they won third place on "The X Factor" under Simon Cowell's record label. However, the band had a fallout and it started when Zayn Malik left the group in March 2015.

The group, with remaining members Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Payne, continued and had another album. However, One Direction decided to go on hiatus in January 2016.

Just recently, Payne had said that the group is planning on a comeback. However, days after his statement, the singer had apparently registered a new song for his solo career, according to Mirror. It appears that he now has songs ready for his first solo album. Payne is reportedly working with Grammy-nominated songwriters Scott Harris, Nick Monson and Emily Warren.

In other news, fans of the singer were left rather shaken and relieved after his name came up in a shooting incident recently. It was Saturday night when Payne was reportedly at The Peppermint Club in West Hollywood when the placed was attacked.

According to CapitalFM, Payne and many others were at the club the same night a gunman used a fake ID to enter the premises. Later, gunshots were heard and, apparently, were fired at the parking lot. Used ammo was found at the scene when the police arrived later on.

Luckily, Payne, who is expecting his first child with girlfriend Cheryl Cole, was reported to have left the club 30 minutes before the shooting happened. As of writing, no news of injuries and deaths have been reported.
