"Pokemon Sun and Moon: The Series" most recent episode, Team Rocket has finally beat Ash for the first time in 20 years. The team has had a bumpy ride and their leader Giovanni has not been appreciative as they're broke most of the time and most of all, they usually lose.

One day, Ash bumped into Jessie and James at the beach following James' efforts in befriending a Mareanie when he decided to scout the waters, which Ash thought that Team Rocket had bad plans again and sent Pikachu and Rowlet to send the pair off. The Mareanie though, loves eating a Corsola and it happens that James' helmet is shaped like a Corsola - so the Mareanie attacked and eventually poisoned James.

James' face turned purple, which the Mareanie thought that James is also a Mareanie - and then it fell in love with James in "Pokemon Sun and Moon: The Series." It's where Ash showed up and Team Rocket as usual, has been wanting to steal Pikachu and so, they challenged Ash to a combat. As Kotaku pointed out, Team Rocket always lose in battles like this but this time, they succeed and they didn't even have to cheat to win.

The Mareanie whose heart falls into James (if it has a heart - pun intended), fought against Ash's Rowlet beating it with a Sludge Bomb and with Mimikyu's absolute hate on Pikachu and has been travelling with Team Rocket the whole time, the love and hate has made Team Rocket defeat Ash fair and square in "Pokemon Sun and Moon: The Series." Of course, the team was in shock and James cried while Jessie went into a complete maniacal celebration.

"Pokemon Sun and Moon: The Series" has just made changes in its tradition by having Team Rocket win over Ash, according to a report. There are questions raised though - will Ash come to a point that he will age or will he get a girlfriend for the first time? Stay tuned.
