The BlackBerry Mercury will allegedly sport the same camera as Google Pixel and Pixel XL have, which will be fully revealed at the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona, Spain. BlackBerry's device maker, TCL, showcased the device at the CES 2017 but has remained tight-lipped about its specs and features since then.

Apparently, the company will retain the keyboard-clad flagship's name to Mercury but reportedly still subject to change upon its final release. As per Tech Times, reports claim that the BlackBerry Mercury will be sporting a 4.5-inch display having a 1,620 x 1,080 pixels of screen resolution, though the screen may seem to be apparently small compared to the large displays in today's smartphones due to its signature QWERTY keyboard attached to the handset.

More so, it will reportedly have the Android 7.0 Nougat pre-installed as its operating system as well as a 4GB RAM and a 64GB of internal storage. Accordingly, BlackBerry is merely focusing on software whereas TCL on the manufacturing process.

The Priv, DTEK50 and DTEK60 are TCL's released phones under the BlackBerry branding. The one showcased at the CES 2017 was a preproduction unit and note that none of the aforementioned specs have been really confirmed by BlackBerry.

Thus, the final product may apparently be a whole lot different with regard to aesthetics and specs configuration with much being said about Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL's camera that is reportedly sported on the BlackBerry Mercury handset.

Additionally, Google Pixel handsets are currently sporting Sony IMX378 sensors and according to experts, it is the best camera on a smartphone, even beating Apple's iPhones' camera. BlackBerry Mercury's X-factor would be having this same sensor integrated into the device's primary camera, making it a 12MP and will possibly be capable of 4K recording.

The sensor cannot possibly deliver Pixel-like images. It will be case since it will solely depend on BlackBerry's software that will be incorporated to the Blackberry Mercury.
