Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 Specs and Features: Waterproof Build, Improved Device Could Follow First Installment

The Google Pixel and Pixel XL became popular releases last year after these phones offered great features in phones that had a minimalist design. Now, fans have big hopes on what to come next for the Pixel series.

Waterproof design

On his Twitter page, 9To5Google senior editor Stephen Hall claimed that Google has earlier revealed that the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 devices will already be waterproof. "Little tidbit we were told in October last year that I forgot about: 'Waterproofing definitely coming with next Pixel device,'" Hall said in his post.

He also indicated on his next tweets that the waterproof feature had to be set aside first because Google had to choose which to introduce first: a powerful camera or a waterproof device. Hall noted that the company was right in "prioritizing" the camera of the Google Pixel and Pixel XL as the best feature that it would be known for.

TechTimes noted that it would really be possible for Google to make a waterproof design for the next Pixel releases since this is a feature which fans noticed lacking in the first installment. Another consideration for Google last year could have been the pricing for the Google Pixel and Pixel XL.

Budget version coming?

It was added in a recent Forbes report that Google could indeed be working on the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2, as well as a budget release for the line which could be called as the Google Pixel 2B. However, the company has yet to release a teaser for this supposed plan so it is still unknown when theses devices will be released.

Considering the sales of the Google Pixel and Pixel XL, Google could indeed come up with a more powerful device as a follow-up to this phone series. TechTimes said both Pixel phones are currently sold out on Verizon.
