'Pokemon GO' News: Gen 2 Update On Hold Due to 'Pokemon Duel?; Alleged Conspiracy Theory True?

"Pokemon GO" is said to be getting an update along with huge event and it is supposed to arrive any time soon. It was said that the update will bring in new Pokemon Gen 2 characters and some other features, however it seems that this will not happen due to some conspiracy theory.

Likewise, many trainers are already anticipating some announcement about an event and they are assuming that it will be a Valentine's Day surprise since it is the upcoming occasion. Although the Valentine's event has been announced already, reports suggest that there is no big update that will introduce more "Pokemon GO" Gen 2 monsters.

Why? It was alleged that the update cannot get through because of "temporary block" that was imposed by Nintendo. As reported by Slashgear, the company wants Niantic to postpone updates for a while. It means to stop releasing major updates such as the Gen 2 Pokemon.

It was said that Nintendo enforced this prohibition on "Pokemon GO" in order to divert the gamers' attention to its newest game spin-off called the "Pokémon Duel." This game was recently launched for Android and iOS in North America.

"Pokémon Duel," a game released on Jan. 24, is already being accused by game enthusiast of using the popularity of "Pokemon GO" for its own benefit. Then again, despite that, it appears that the new game still failed to achieve big success.

Moreover, the title has been around Japan for some time already, but it appears that its charm did not reach the North American trainers so it was not able to secure many audience. Players in the U.S. also expressed mixed reactions and most were negative, Forbes reported.

In any case, if the mentioned conspiracy theory is true, then Nintendo should know that blocking the updates is not helping either "Pokemon Duel" or "Pokemon GO." Hence, the release of Gen 2 Pokemon should just proceed as originally planned.

Niantic, Nintendo or the Pokémon Company has not responded to this allegation so the issue remained a mystery. Meanwhile, the "Pokemon GO" Valentine's limited-time celebration has been set to run from Feb. 8 to Feb. 15 only, so trainers should set out now to meet pink Pokemon in the wild and get twice as much candies, too.
