Characters in "The Expanse" are shocked when a startling revelation is made during the latest episode of the show. "Home" is the fifth episode of "The Expanse" Season 2.

According to TV Fanatic, in "Home," viewers found out that the asteroid Eros has somehow "developed a mind of its own." Eros "hurtles through space," and the asteroid seems to be heading towards Earth while Miller is "hanging on for dear life." He also has a nuke that he plans on detonating in a heat source. According to Naomi, this heat source is "controlling the asteroid."

Meanwhile, the United Nations (U.N.) military brain-trust panics and they fire 150 nukes at Eros, but the asteroid "cloaks itself from radar," rendering the nukes unable to target it. Fred Johnson from the U.N. and Captain Holden try to come up with a plan via "nervous, time-delayed exchanges."

Their plan involves the Rocinante following Eros until it is within visual range and using laser-guided Earth missiles to destroy the asteroid. The Rocinante crew give it their best, even putting themselves in danger by "accelerating to a high-G burn to keep up with Eros' pace."

Miller continues to execute Naomi's plans, but he hears voices. Naomi believes these voices are from the people who died because of Protomolecule. Guided by the voices, Miller heads to the Blue Falcon Hotel.  Miller and the Rocinante originally found Julie Mao's Protomolecule-infested body at the hotel.

Miller then hear's a voice say "Razorback," and he recognizes it "as the name of the ship he traveled on to reach Eros." Miller tells Naomi a theory: that Julie also "infected" Protomolecule while it infected her, resulting in a "syncing" between them. Miller eventually finds Julie's body "plugged in" to Protomolecule via tubes. He then tries to wake her up.

Julie awakens, and there are no signs of the barnacles on her body when she was first infected. She asks where she is and what she's doing. She also tells Miller that "she can't help steering the asteroid toward Earth, because she misses her home planet." He removes his helmet and protective gear and manages to convince Julie to steer Eros into Venus. "The Expanse" Season 2 Episode 5 concluded with Miller Julie kissing before the explosion.

The episode "Home" featured "political ramifications, personal sacrifice, and emotional investment involved in destroying Eros" which could have easily been overwhelmed by its own grand scale but "The Expanse" Season 2 Episode 5 was "grounded in human reactions, both noble and misguided," per Den of Geek. "Home" was a great episode because it succeeded in combining "stunning visuals with heart."
