While Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) awaits trial for his murder case, "Criminal Minds" Behavioral Analysis Unit's (BAU) genius doctor and profiler begins his jail time on Wednesday's episode titled Alpha Male and it appears that he has more problems than his possible sentence of 25 years to life in the event that the trial goes wrong. Reid is also seen befriending someone in prison.

In "Criminal Minds" season 12 episode 15, Reid is seen rubbing shoulders with Calvin Shaw (Harold Perrineau), a former FBI agent being locked up for killing one of his spies in 2005. Shaw also has the same characteristic with Reid being charming, poised and a bookworm as well. That said, fans are wondering whether or not he is really watching over Reid.

In an interview with TV Guide, showrunner Erica Messer said that Calvin Shaw is some kind of a mystery and will be in "Criminal Minds" season 12 episodes for a little while. "Harold is amazing and we've all been fans of his since Oz and Lost. To have him with us is just a joy. "

Spencer Reid has been struggling with his mother's health condition and now, here's another case again for him and his team has been worried about him since, though they will have to fly to Philadelphia to work on a case, which involves an UnSub (Unknown Subject) throwing acid in his victims' faces in "Criminal Minds" season 12 episode 15. Reports also say that Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) has been active with letting Reid know all the time that his team is with him no matter what and that they will send him letters and of course, visit him.

Calvin Shaw, on the other hand, would remain a mystery and this will have fans get more thrilled in the upcoming "Criminal Minds" episodes. What do you think of him? Will he be an ally or a foe? Let us know in the comments below!
