Apple is nowhere close to announcing its highly anticipated iPhone 8, but this hasn't put a lid on rumors and leaks, which seems to be pouring in from all corners.

Lining with this, the iPhone 8 has surfaced online once again -- this time in the form of leaked photos. The recently surfaced leak offers a brief glimpse of what looks like the spitting image of iPhone 8's glossy black model's front and back view. The image hints at a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner since the screen real estate has been expanded and the standard Home Button has been dumped.

The mockup photo has been created on the basis of leaked insider information by iDrop News (via Gadgets360). The front display of the purported iPhone 8 bears a striking resemblance with the Samsung Galaxy S8, which launched March 29.

The phone sports marginal curved edges on the left and right side with thin bezels filling the top and bottom side. On the back, the iPhone 8 sports some quite unusual design changes. For instance, Apple seems to have ousted the horizontal camera setup (like one on the iPhone 7 Plus) in favor of a vertical dual camera setup.

Meanwhile, another report suggests Apple may be planning to launch a 3D sensing AR (augmented reality) selfie camera in the iPhone 8. The shred of information coming from Morgan Stanley's Charlie Chan (via Forbes) alludes to Himax Technologies as one of the several companies that could be making the new components mandatory for the camera.

The report cited a note to investors from KGI Securities analyst and renowned Apple forecaster, Ming-Chi Kuo. In the note discovered by BusinessInsider last month, Kuo claims that the iPhone 8 could feature an avant-garde 3D sensing camera.

Aside from that, Japanese site Macotakara (via Gadgets360) claimed the next iPhone will not come bearing the iPhone 8 moniker as several sources have been indicating. Taking a cue from Apple Watch series, the Cupertino-based tech firm will be calling its next flagship smartphone iPhone Edition instead, the report added.

It's worth noting that Apple has neither denied nor confirmed these rumors, meaning, readers have to take this leak with a huge grain of salt. Watch this space for more iPhone 8 related news and updates!
