Moto G5: 2 Reasons Why Motorola's Midrange Smartphone Rocks
Caezar SottoThrifty smartphone buyers that are looking for a sleek and powerful device should consider Motorola's Moto G5. Apart from being a cheap and reliable phone unit, it is as aesthetically pleasing as Samsung and Apple's latest line of handsets.
The Moto G5 shares the market for midrange phones with the likes of Xiaomi, Oppo, and OnePlus. However, Motorola's entry is rated higher in several tech reviews than most of its rivals.
Nonetheless, Motorola continues to impress consumers with its budget-friendly G series. To sum things up, Here two reasons why the Moto G5 rocks.
Premier Features At A Not So Premier Price
At a price range between $190 to $230, the phone has features that are only available to expensive handsets. The Moto G5 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC that's integrated with a 1.4GHz octa-core processor and an Adreno 505 GPU.
Benchmarks for the Snapdragon 430 SoC shows that it is at par with Samsung J7's Snapdragon 615 SoC. But keep note that former's midrange model costs at least $320.
Budget wise, investing for a phone that has an identical performance for $100 more is already a bad choice. Aside from the same SoC, the Moto G5's 13MP camera is reportedly almost identical to Samsung's $630 S7 model.
Aside from the mentioned specifications, Motorola's smartphone also has 3GB of RAM to take care of slow loading pages. Storage wise, the Moto G5 has 16GB internal storage that's upgradeable up to 128GB via a microSD card.
The phone's display also does not disappoint. The G5 has a 5-inch touchscreen display that has a 1080p resolution (441 PPI). The device comes out of the box with the Android 7.0 operating system.
Battery wise it has a 2800mAh removable battery, and despite all of the specifications, the phone only has a sleek 144.30 x 73.00 x 9.50 height, width, thickness dimension. It's also quite light considering it only weighs 145 grams.
The Moto G5 supports two Nano-SIM cards with optional 4G connectivity. Other features like Bluetooth, WiFi, and other multimedia applications come standard with the $230 price tag.
The Motorola Moto G5 Has High Rated Reviews
It's no secret that phone reviews help buyers shorten the list for a future smartphone purchase. In that case, the Moto G5 has been able to impress reviewers with how it balances performance and affordability.
PCAdvisor calls the phone a "clear standout," and Trusted Reviews continues to praise Motorola for its impressive Moto G series. The Verge also said that the phone is "a new value champion" among midrange smartphones.
Depending who you ask, the Moto G5 continues to stand out against the rest of its competitors. It's one good phone that lets you enjoy the features of a flagship unit without breaking the budget. Stay tuned for more reviews.
