The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will be available mid-January 2024, but the OnePlus 12 will debut sooner than usual on December 4.

Both offer excellent performance and, in slightly different ways, represent the strengths of their respective manufacturers.

Nevertheless, they offer minor improvements over their predecessors and don't differ from them. Even though these updates might feel familiar, both devices should perform well, so it's not bad.

Since their inception, they have established themselves as industry leaders and deserve serious attention due to their remarkable features and capabilities.

Design, Size, and Display Differences

New features and design will be observed in soon-to-be-released smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and One Plus 12.

It appears that OnePlus has also adhered to the famous design concept of its predecessors - the OnePlus 11, 10 Pro, and 9 Pro. It includes Gorilla Glass panels with aluminum edges plus a revival of the left-side ring switch.

However, the Galaxy S24 Ultra opts for titanium, which may be smoother but still features the typical Galaxy shape. The expected colors for Oneplus 12 may be glossy white-matte silver, black with artificial leather, and attractive green rough surface.

For the Samsung S24 Ultra, there will be options like black, gray, violet, and yellow.

These typical port configurations also remain intact, whereby they are replaced by USB type-C connectors rather than old-style audio jacks together with microSD card slots. The Galaxy S24 Ultra will be launched with no bundle, including a charger.

However, it still remains questionable whether it would be similar to the case of OnePlus, which could continue the routine of bundling a fast charger.

The OnePlus 12 states that it will have a 6.82-inch QHD+ LTPO 3.0 screen with a peak of 2600 nits for better outdoor visibility and HDR content.

Therefore, during this time, the S24 Ultra maintains a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with a resolution of 3200 x 1440, good contrast, vibrant colors, and an expected brightness of 2500 nits.

The standard ports are still applicable, though, with USB type C replacing audio jacks and card slots for Micro SD. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is likely to be sold with slim packaging but without charging devices; however, One Plus might stick to including a fast charger.

Regarding display specifications, the OnePlus 12 suggests a 6.82-inch QHD+ LTPO 3.0 screen with a brightness of up to 2,600 nits for better outdoor visibility and HDR content.

In the meantime, the S24 Ultra keeps its 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED display, which is similar to the OnePlus 12 in that it offers a resolution of 3080 x 1440, excellent contrast, vivid colors, and an expected brightness of 2,500 nits.

Performance and Camera

With top-tier chipsets, the OnePlus 12 and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra are expected to deliver impressive performance. It is rumored that Samsung will compete with OnePlus by using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the Galaxy S24 Ultra, a device that will be available worldwide. It is anticipated that both phones would come in versions with 8GB to 16GB of RAM and 128GB to 1TB of storage.

Regarding the cameras section, the OnePlus 12 features the cutting-edge Sony LYT-T808 sensor alongside a well-known triple camera configuration.

In a variety of lighting scenarios, this special sensor improves light absorption for better image quality.

Simultaneously, the Galaxy S24 Ultra experiences notable modifications, replacing the 10X periscope camera with a more useful 5.0X telephoto lens.

Samsung unveils AI-powered features like E2E AI Remosaic for improved processing efficiency and Zoom Anywhere for all-around video capture. These changes point to a major change in Samsung's strategy for the camera arrangement on its flagship.

OnePlus 12 Might Outshine Galaxy S24 Ultra

In comparison to the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, the OnePlus 12 provides significant value for the money. OnePlus phones have always been far less expensive than Samsung's equivalents; the starting price of the OnePlus 11 is $699, which is considerably less than the S23 Ultra's average starting price of $1,199.

For less than $1,000, you can use the OnePlus 12 to get nearly all of the S24 Ultra's capabilities.

With its Hasselblad-tuned camera system and identical Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, the OnePlus 12 is expected to surpass the S24 Ultra regarding display quality and battery life.
