If you're a fan of your smartphone having a touchscreen and a physical QWERTY keyboard you might be very interested in a purported leak of a new Samsung smartphone carrying the GT-B7810 name which lines up with the GT-B7800 naming scheme found on the Samsung Galaxy M Pro, a device Samsung had originally released back in 2011.
This smartphone looks like it could be the successor to the Samsung Galaxy M Pro, which featured a physical QWERTY keyboard, 2.66-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen, 1GHz processor, 5-megapixel camera on the back, VGA front-facing camera, HSPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, Android 2.3 Gingerbread and Samsung's TouchWIZ UI. The Galaxy M Pro never materialized into the success Samsung had hoped it would by differentiating itself from other Android smartphones at the time. The device was also believed to have been designed to appeal to BlackBerry users looking to make the transition over to Android and still offering a familiar, physical QWERTY keyboard
It appears that Samsung is not giving up on designing and possibly releasing an Android smartphone with a physical QWERTY keyboard and slightly better specs. The device is believed to be featuring Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, HSDPA 3G radio, Wi-fi 802.11 b/g/n, a 480 x 360 capacitive touchscreen, Bluetooth 3.0, microSD card support, and a removable 1,200 mAh battery. There is no mention of what type of processor is inside this smartphone but as you can tell from the specs, this isn't a high end smartphone at all and could possibly be offered for free with a 2 year contract or sold as a very low-cost smartphone to compete with existing BlackBerry 7 devices and feature phones.
This smartphone was approved by the FCC in June 2012 but has stayed under wraps until pictures and information were published and translated from Blog of Mobile (Japanese).
