Apple recently released the Apple TV software 5.3 version and users of second and third generation Apple TV are very happy to get HBO and ESPN onboard their set-top box.
However, many users who are updating their Apple TVs to the new Apple TV software 5.3 will be disappointed as the new software patches the Seas0nPass jailbreak they were enjoying so far.
The most disappointing thing for the users is that once they install the 5.3 version of Apple TV software, they can't downgrade their Apple TVs to any earlier version.
Many people can be found on different tech forums discussion the same as they are still not sure whether they can go back to the previous software version or not.
Another point of disappointment is that users know that the jailbreak for the Apple TV software 5.3 is not going to arrive anytime soon as the jailbreakers will be going easy with this jailbreak.
When Apple released the Apple TV software 5.2.1 in March this year, the Cupertino-based tech giant patched the evasi0n jailbreak. However, the 5.2.1 update was jailbroken after a month when Fire Core team released the Seas0nPass jailbreak.
Users of Seas0nPass, who update their devices to the 5.3 version of Apple TV software, are also blaming the jailbreak software for not intimating them about saving the SHSH blobs of the older version of the software.
"Nowhere did any instructions suggest we do things like save this BLOB thing (whatever that is). Very frustrating. I wish the Seas0nPass was smart enough to ask us this, in the first place. At least do a version check of the current firmware and ask us if we want to back that up. I've firmware updated bucket loads of modems, routers, motherboards, etc. And never had I heard before that these blobs (I'm assuming a blog = the firmware for an Apple TV) are device specific that's crazy talk," a user posted on Fire Core's forum page.
