The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for HTC One owners on Verizon is still on track, which means that it should roll out by the end of the month.
Verizon has already been very late to the HTC One party, as the carrier has just recently started offering the smartphone, months after the other operators added it to their lineups. By now, most Verizon customers have gotten accustomed to the fact that their carrier is often synonymous with delays.
Even with software updates, Verizon is notorious for delaying the rollout as the carrier has a very rigorous update process that takes more time. The HTC One update to the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean has started to roll out a while ago, and most recently the firmware became available for AT&T customers.
HTC One owners on Verizon, meanwhile, were again having doubts on whether their carrier would offer the new software in a timely manner or whether they would be left waiting yet again, while users on other carriers enjoy the goodies.
Verizon was slated to release the Android 4.3 update for its version of the HTC One by the end of this month, and it now seems that everything is right on track, which should mean the new firmware will roll out within the next couple of weeks.
The news comes directly from HTC President Jason Mackenzie, who confirmed the Verizon HTC One update schedule via Twitter, in response to a customer's query.
"We are still on track to release before months end," Mackenzie tweeted on Oct. 9. "We are working with them to release before end of this month," he reiterated the next day, on Oct. 10.
Sprint was the first one of the four major carriers to roll out the new Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to its HTC One, followed by AT&T. This leaves Verizon and T-Mobile to follow suit. Verizon will be the last as usual, as T-Mobile should roll out the update by the middle of this month, according to Mackenzie. In other words, HTC One owners on T-Mobile should get the upgrade to Android 4.3 any day now.
