The Nokia Lumia Black software update is now rolling out to the AT&T Lumia 920 and Lumia 820, bringing some neat new features and enhancements.
Nokia started to roll out its Lumia Black software update to the Lumia 1020 and Lumia 925 back in early-January. The company has rolled out the update for the lower-end Lumia 520 and Lumia 720 a couple of days ago, and the Nokia Lumia Black is now ready to hit the AT&T Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 as well.
In return for Nokia's commitment to the Windows Phone platform, Microsoft has given the Finnish company more access to the OS than any other Windows Phone licensee. Nokia took advantage of this special treatment to add its own software goodies, offering a number of enhancements that have proved to be very popular among Windows Phone users.
Owners if the AT&T Nokia Lumia 920 or Lumia 820 can now finally enjoy all of the new features and enhancements that Lumia Black has to offer. According to Nokia's announcement on Thursday, Jan. 30, Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 users should now see the new update as ready to install. To check for the update's availability, go to your phone's Settings and select Phone Upgrade. You should see a notification that the Lumia Black update is now available for your device.
The Nokia Lumia Black update will bring some notable features and enhancements to improve your experience. You will now be able to organize your Start screen more easily through App Folder, which allows you to group similar apps and settings for easier management. The update will also add Bluetooth LE support, which will enable your Lumia 920 or Lumia 820 to connect to other Bluetooth LE devices such as smartwatches.
Other additions include Nokia Camera, which combines the Nokia Pro Camera and Smart Camera for a superior photography experience. Lumia Black will also bring several other goodies to the table, all of which are designed to significantly improve your smartphone's software.
