Building up momentum ahead of the big Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014 trade show, HTC has now posted more teaser images of its upcoming Desire 8 smartphone.
The HTC One successor dubbed the HTC M8 may have the rumor mill working overtime, but the mid-range HTC Desire 8 has had its fair share of leaks as well. The handset is expected to make its official debut in just a few days at MWC 2014, but HTC decided to do some more teasing ahead of the big unveiling.
The company took to its Weibo account to publish some new images of its the upcoming HTC Desire 8, giving us a glimpse into what to expect. HTC made no mention of specifications so far, but the newly-posted photos show all angles of the handset. One post is from Feb. 20, while another image just popped up on Feb. 21. You can check out more of HTC's Weibo posts at this link.
Based on the photos HTC offered, the HTC Desire 8 seems to be a thin smartphone with a clean design, featuring slightly curved corners. The images further reveal that the handset will come in at least two color options, white and dark blue, with the latter dark enough that it almost looks like black. It remains unclear at this point whether these are the only color options for the HTC Desire 8, or more options will be available when the smartphone launches.
As previously mentioned, HTC gave no details regarding the HTC Desire 8's specifications, but various recent reports have tried to paint a picture of what to expect. According to rumors so far, the smartphone will come with a large 5.5-inch display, have dual-SIM support, and feature a 13-megapixel rear camera complemented by a 5-megapixel front shooter. Previous reports also claimed the handset would come in several color options including yellow, cyan, red, and orange, but those options remain unconfirmed.
All of the above-listed specifications are based purely on speculation, so it is highly advisable to take them with a grain of salt. The images, however, come straight from the source and that's what the upcoming HTC Desire 8 will look like. As for the official specs, we'll soon know all there is to know when the smartphone makes its debut next week, as the Mobile World Congress kicks off on Feb. 24 in Barcelona.
