Verizon offers more data, $150 port-in credits with new limited-time offer
Alexandra BurlacuVerizon is upping its game in its latest attempt to attract more customers, offering more data and credit to those who switch to its network.
Starting on Saturday, Nov. 1, those who agree to switch to Verizon's network and choose a More Everything plan at $80 or $100 will get extra data for that price. More specifically, Verizon is offering 10GB of data for the $80 plan and 15GB of data for the $100 plan. Moreover, these options will also be available for existing customers who want to spice up their deal with the carrier by visiting My Verizon.
New customers who sign up for a new Verizon plan on the carrier's 4G LTE network and purchase a new 4G LTE smartphone, meanwhile, will also benefit from a "port-in" credit Big Red is offering. Choosing either a two-year subsidized plan or a Verizon Edge program will add a $150 port-in credit to customers' bill to get things started and sweeten the deal.
It's worth pointing out that Verizon mentions that these promotional offers will only be good for a limited time, but does not note just when exactly these deals are set to expire.
"Verizon's best ever pricing and port-in credit will be available for a limited time. Verizon wants all wireless users to know what we know: That a credit, promotion or data plan is only as good as the network it is on," reads the carrier's announcement.
Verizon's latest offers are likely a response to AT&T's newly-announced strategy, in which the carrier has increased the data amount for customers on $40 and $70 plans. AT&T is now offering customers 3GB and 6GB of data on those plans, respectively. Verizon's new offer targets data-heavy users as well, and some may find it more attractive than AT&T's latest scheme.
As previously mentioned, Verizon's new deals for customers who switch over to its network go into effect on Saturday, Nov. 1, and will only be available for a limited time. Verizon has yet to detail when the offers will expire, but we'll make sure to keep you up to date as soon as we learn more.
