Our Apple iPad Pro 9.7 vs. iPad Air 2 comparison revealed that even though both the devices seem to be almost similar, they do have some significant differences. The iPad Pro features a faster A-series processor, better camera, and four speakers that provide it an edge over the iPad Air 2 device.

To start with, both the Apple devices have an aluminum chassis with a 9.7-inch screen and LED-backlit IPS LCD display. The tablets also feature the same resolution of 2048×1536 pixels. However, one of the most interesting features of the iPad Pro 9.7 is the Retina display, which adds the True Tone technology and automatically adjusts the white balance.

Both the devices do differ in terms of performance-related specs. The Apple iPad Pro 9.7 sports an A9 processor with a PowerVR Series 7 graphics card, whereas the iPad Air 2 consists of an A8 chipset with a PowerVR GXA6850 graphics card. Both the tablets also feature a 2 GB RAM. Furthermore, the iPad Pro device is available in three internal storage variants of 32 GB, 128 GB, and 256GB while, the iPad consists of 16 GB, 64 GB, and 128GB storage variants.

Both the tablets also differ in terms of camera and battery specs. The iPad Pro 9.7 sports a 12-megapixel rear and a 5-megapixel front camera along with additional specs like the dual-LED flash, face detection autofocus, touch focus, HDR, panorama, and geo-tagging. In contrast, the iPad Air 2 features an 8-megapixel primary with only a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera.

On the other hand, the iPad Pro 9.7 consists of a non-removable 7306 mAh battery, which is comparatively less powerful than the iPad Air 2's 8820 mAh battery.

As far as the prices are concerned, the iPad Pro 9.7 tab is available for $599, whereas the iPad Air 2 has been priced for $399.
