Google Nexus Marlin vs Nexus 6P Review: Battle Of The Giants; Specs, Features, Price Comparison

With rumors that Google will soon release its next version of the Nexus smartphones, the comparison reports of the upcoming variant Nexus Marlin and its predecessor Nexus 6P have emerged. It is stated that both the phones have many specs and features that clearly distinguish them apart, like the display screen, camera, and the Snapdragon processor.

Below we have compared the Nexus Marlin and Nexus 6P in terms of their design, display, processor, and additional features. This will give you an idea about which device will prove as the best buy option.

To start with, the Google Nexus Marlin phone is expected to be released with an aluminum chassis and a plastic rear panel. It is stated that the back section of the new device will sport a fingerprint scanner. Also, the Nexus Marlin phone will feature sleeker deign compared to its predecessor. On the other hand, 2015's Nexus 6P also sports a full metallic body, but it is reported to be bit heavier than the upcoming Nexus Marlin phone.

In terms of display, both the devices are reported to be at war with different specs. The Nexus Marlin is rumored to consist of a 5.5-inch Super LCD 5 display with Quad HD resolution whereas the Nexus 6P has a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels.

If Nexus 6P excels its successor in terms of display, it will lag behind when it comes to performance related-specs. The Nexus Marlin is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 821 chipset with 4 GB RAM. Reports claimed that the device will be made available in 32 GB and 128 GB with a micro SD slot.

Meanwhile, the Nexus 6P sports a Snapdragon 810 processor with 3GB RAM. However, it is available in three storage options, namely 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB without the micro SD slot.

The Google Nexus Marlin will feature an enhanced 12.3-megapixel rear camera compared to the Nexus 6P's 12-megapixel camera. As far as the software specs are concerned, the upcoming Google phone is also expected to run on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat oOS. It will also consist of a Night Light Mode, which will allow the users to set their own user preference mode in sync with their local time and work schedule.

The Nexus Marlin will also feature a USB Type-C and dual speakers on its front panel, which are not included on the Nexus 6P device. In terms of battery, the upcoming Google phone is expected sport similar capacity like that of its predecessor which is 3,450 mAh.

The Nexus 6P is priced at $499, $549, and $699 for its 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB models, respectively. It is rumored that the Nexus Marlin will cost a bit higher than its predecessor.
