Vanessa Hudgens, 27, might reprise her role as Gabriella Montez in "High School Musical 4." The American actress-singer vaguely hinted her possible return by posting a throwback photo of her with the series' original cast on Twitter.

Along with the throwback photo is a caption that reads, "A little #TBT for all the HSM fans." What's more, the attached link divers to the online test on "Which Highschool Musical Character Are You?"

According to Movie News Guide, Vanessa Hudgens' Gabriella Montez and Zac Efron's Troy Bolton are expected to make their eagerly anticipated cameo in "High School Musical 4." It is said that the two will appear as an alumni member in the musical show.

Other reports suggested that Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron will play as vocal mentors to the new breed of wildcats, while Ashley Tisdale plays Mrs. Darbus' assistant moderator in the theater club. While nothing is impossible, it is worth noting that neither Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron have confirmed the claims.

Dubbed "High School Musical 4: Wild and Knights," the upcoming musical show follows a love triangle set against the East High Wildcats and West High Knights.

"'High School Musical' is part of Disney Channel's DNA," Disney's President and Chief Creative Officer Gary Marsh said in a statement. "As a way of continuing to embrace that heritage, we are excited to announce 'the start of something new'."

The new class of Wildcats are - Eren, an ambitious soccer player; Derek, a dancer, Campbell (Sharpay and Ryan's cousin), a theater star who wants to date Erin, and Tamara, a cheerleader and a fallen queen bee, Just Jared reported.

It is presumed that the latter will serve as the fundamental foe in "High School Musical 4: Wild and Knights," as she would reportedly do what it takes to recapture her high social status and reclaim all the attention for herself.
