It looks like "Descendants of the Sun" season 2 is finally happening. Fans can now rejoice as they can continue watch Song Joong Ki's character Captain Yoo Si Jin but unfortunately, rumors are rife that Song Hye Kyo will not be reprising her role, Dr. Kang Mo Yeon in the military romance drama sequel.

Reports noted earlier that Song Hye Kyo was not yet excited to star yet in another drama. Despite this, the filming for the second season of "Descendants of the Sun" is rumored to be underway.

While there has been no official announcement from the staff and network about the sequel's existence, different reports, spoilers and updates online are claiming that the new run has been green lit. Speculations continue to surface especially that new photos of Song Joong Ki in military uniform appeared online.

Despite his busy schedule, Song Joong Ki has rumored to be taken his role again in "Descendants of the Sun" season 2. He was spotted in an army uniform post and his fans are very pleased and excited that he may be filming the second sequel of the famous military romance drama.

On October 12, a netizen uploaded a photo of Song Joong Ki wearing an army uniform waiting to receive reserve forces training. The poster also wrote, "Wow it's Yoo Si Jin. [I'm] a reservist with Song Joong Ki hyung, sorry for taking the photo without permission."

Further sources reported that Song Joong Ki was at reservist training but did not confirmed if it was for the much anticipated "Descendants of the Sun" season 2.

For now, fans of "Descendants of the Sun's" Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo can take everything as a grain of salt unless KBS2 network officially released confirmation about the military romance season 2.
