The latest "Vikings" Season 5 update reveals that King Ragnar's fate will be known in the upcoming season 4B. Many speculate that the Old King may kill himself and pass the throne to his favorite son, Ivar "The Boneless."

Previous reports hint that "Vikings" Season 4B will see the return of an old Ragnar, after he went missing during the 1^st half. The time jump will focus on his attempt to rebuild trust and gain back the respect of his sons, who are all grown up and hold grudges against their father for abandoning them.

Latest reports, however, reveal that Ragnar may have hard time reuniting with his loved ones. According to Entertainment Weekly, Ragnar may attempt to commit suicide in "Vikings" Season 4 Part 2. And Lagertha will be receiving the news from the Seer that his husband killed himself.

In an interview with Showbiz Junkies, actress Katheryn Winnick said that Lagertha will consult the Seer and receive some devastating news, "She goes to [the Seer] and he gives her some devastating news that literally changes her for not only the rest of the season, but the rest of her life."

Winnick adds that it is going to be a "really big scene" in "Vikings" Season 4B. The devastating news will also answer a big question that Lagertha will not expect. Furthermore, actress notes that "it's something the audience wouldn't necessarily expect."

Perhaps, this could be the reason why Ragnar is doing his best to mentor his favorite son Ivar 'The Boneless' during the second half of "Vikings" Season 4. If the Old King may be killed off next season, viewers should expect that Ivar "The Boneless" will take over the throne of his father during the 5th installment next year.

Season 4B air date is on Wednesday, November 30, while "Vikings" Season 5 is expected to be released in 2017.
