The latest iteration of the "Strike The Blood" franchise, in the form of an OVA series, has been released in Blu-ray and DVD formats.

The announcement of the OVA series was made on May along with the subsequent release of the light novel's 15th volume in Japan. The OVA series is reported to have four two-episode volumes, with the first volume released on November 23.

The OVA will tell fans the story in the light novel's 9th volume, and will take place in a resort facility called Blue Elysium.

According to the Anime News Network, the second volume of "Strike The Blood Second" will be released on December 21, the third volume on March 29, 2017, and the fourth volume on April 26, 2017.

Included with the first volume release are the opening and ending sequences without staff credits, and a booklet containing an original story by series creator Gakuto Mikumo, a manga, and OVA annotations.

Most of the cast of the anime series are reprising their roles for the OVA, as well as new characters introduced in the light novel's ninth volume. New characters Yumi Eguchi and Kiriha Kisaki will be voiced by Nao Touyama and Yukiyo Fuiji, respectively.

Similar to the cast, much of the staff from the earlier 24-episode anime series are returning for the OVA project - including Hideyo Yamamoto as director, and SILVER LINK./CONNECT as its animation studio.

Kishida Kyoudan & The Akeboshi Rockets are also returning as the opening theme song performers, and Risa Taneda, as the character Yukina Himeragi, is performing the ending theme song.

A promotional video for the OVA series is available for streaming at Warner Bros. Japan's YouTube channel.

The "Strike The Blood" franchise started as a series of light novels and inspired a 24-episode television series in 2013, along with a two-episode OVA project last year.
