Kirsten Kane"Orange is the New Black" Season 5 is still in the making but rumors and speculations about the new season are now swirling on the web.
Previously, it has been rumored that the show's production has been postponed due to Taylor Schilling and Laura Prepon's conflict. Schilling has reportedly been jealous of Prepon for directing one of the series' episodes. However, this might not be true as the two have also been reported enjoying each other's company while filming.
Latest reports suggest that the show's release might be delayed because of the director's plan to quit. The Netflix is yet to verify this rumor.
Meanwhile, rumors are rife that some of the characters will get a flashback this season and this might include Dascha Polanco's Daya, Samira Wiley's Cindy and Trashe Jefferson's Taystee who is said to be sent to the Secret Housing Unit (SHU) or to a regular ward depending on what course of action she will take towards Caputo (Nick Sandow), who still turn downs to hold Bayley responsible for the death of Poussey.
Speculations also have it that change is coming for the Litchfield Correctional Facility as it will feature more inmates and new characters. However, it has been said that one major character will have to say goodbye as the first episode of Season 5 airs aside from CO Humphrey (Michael Torpey).
It can be recalled that Season 4 ended with a cliffhanger wherein Daya (DaschaPolanco) pointed a gun at Humphrey Correctional Officer Humphrey and might finally pull the trigger.
Moreover, Matt McGorry is said to return as John Bennet bringing more exciting scenes to fans of the Netflix series.
Aside from Mcgorry, Lory Petty's Lolly might have a comeback in the new season.
"I certainly hope so. I do think we will. I can't say for sure, but I absolutely think we will. They are just now filming episode one [of season five] and you know how we ended season four. They have a lot to deal with right now! I'm just waiting on the phone call to get back on the plane. I'm sure it will come, but we have 13 episodes and they've got a lot to take care of, so we'll see," Lolly told The Hollywood Reporters.
"Orange is the New Black" is expected to be aired on June 2017.
