Nintendo's Super Mario Run Having Problems With Figures?

Nicole T.

Nintendo has always been among the top developers of games. With their own consoles, the company has brought to fans iconic games. One of these is "Super Mario" and finally, fans on their iPhones can now experience "Super Mario" again with "Super Mario Run." The game was released for Apple Inc. devices last Thursday, Dec.15.

It is indeed a great holiday treat from Nintendo. However, fans are not feeling as great now that the game has released. Apparently, "Super Mario Run's" free three stages ends too quickly. According to Business Times, most cases the stages can be completed in under 10 minutes.

To unlock the next levels, players will have to pay for $10. Nonetheless, it seemed a bit pricey for most.

The figures for "Super Mario Run" was good, although not as great as "Pokemon GO" did. However, the game garnered tens of millions of downloads already and has been reported to have already made $4 million to $8.3 million.

Although everything seems great, Nintendo's expectations and figures are not coinciding well with each other. According to reports, Nintendo's stock was down to 7.1% last Monday on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. They weren't getting good reviews from investors as well as the sales are unlike their expected numbers.

In fact, Gizmodo reported that most reviews on App store are only single stars. Apple users have cited various problems with "Super Mario Run" such as the app crashing. Others even went far to say that the game was not fun at all.

"Super Mario Run" also requires internet to play. This is another of the most common complaints from people who have downloaded the game.

Nintendo has apparently had it rough this past year. "Pokemon GO" had been a big hit even though it went so quickly. Nonetheless, Nintendo had only owned a part of the game. Apart from that, Wii U has reportedly failed and even 3DS games sales are waning. Nintendo will likely need something to hit big.

The new console, Nintendo Switch, may be the answer. However, Nintendo and fans will have to wait for a while for it to launch.
