Due To Super Mario Run’s Success Nintendo Promises to Release 2 to 3 Mobile Games per Year; Starting 2017
Ralphy Bonn SimNintendo recently released its first mobile game "Super Mario Run" which landed in Apple App Store. The Japanese video game studio revealed they are going to aim for 2 to 3 mobile releases starting 2017.
It is clear that the company is going to push harder in the mobile gaming industry. This year Nintendo enrolled a new sector of the gaming industry in an unexpected move for fans, but one that was long overdue according to many market analysts. "Super Mario Run" explodes its records in the App Store; hitting 40 million downloads in just 4 days after it was launched.
"Super Mario Run" is an automatic runner game that takes the core concept of Mario ambiance, which is running and jumping and simplifies it even further by taking the burden if directional movement out of the equation. In this game, Mario runs his own from left to right and you only have control over his jumps. A quick tap initiates a small hop, while a longer press sends the plumber soaring through the air. It's a simple control scheme that may not excite long-time Mario fans, but it's perfectly suited for touchscreen devices and very responsive.
Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima confirmed at Kyoto Shimbun, a Japanese publication that Nintendo has already number of various mobile titles in line for development, and also revealed that his company will aim to release at least 2 or 3 mobile application games each year from now on.
"Nintendo now sees mobile as the third pillar of the company's business, which has until now been focused on dedicated home and handheld consoles," as stated by Tatsumi Kimishima.
Tatsumi Kimishima also shared that he expects "Super Mario Run" to hit 100 million downloads on the App Store, and that Nintendo is studying the user input in order to improve the game.
