The upcoming "Naruto Shippuden" episode 488 is highly anticipated by the hordes of fans of the long-running anime series as it is seen to finally to conclude the story between Sasuke and the Ketsuryugan user Chino. While the previous episode finally revealed the child-looking Chino to be the Kekkei Genkai wielder, it ended with a cliffhanger, the highly anticipated fight between the two powerful eye technique users did not happen.

'Naruto Shippuden' Episode 487 Recap - Ketsuryugan

When Fuushin's cover as Nowaki was blown, he immediately attacked Sasuke. Apparently, he is very skilled in using wind-based jutsu attacks and is able to create mini tornados at will. However, Sasuke was quick to realize that just like tornados in real life, Fuushin's jutsu also had one weakness - the calm at the center of the storm. Sasuke teleported himself above Fuushin and subdued him.

As Sasuke used his Sharingan to look into Fuushin's memories, he was temporarily trapped by another eye technique, the Ketsuryugan. He had to dispel its effects by activating his Mangekyou Sharingan, giving Fuushin and Kekkei Genkai user enough time to escape.

Continuing his journey to Hell Valley, Sasuke eventually saw Chino already there waiting for him. As a way explaining him of her hatred, she used her Ketsuryugan on him so he may see her past. Just like Sasuke, she is the last of her clan. Although in her case, her clan probably died of starvation due to the inhospitable conditions of Hell Valley, the place where the Uchihas of the past  had forced her ancestors' relocation.

She was kidnapped at a young age by En Oyashiro, the arms dealer and Kekkei Genkai collector. She met Fuushin in a match at the Coliseum where she easily defeated the wind style user due to her eye technique Ketsuryugan. When Fuushin became a member of Oyashiro's guard, the two became very close, until they bolted out of his mansion along with others.

Thus began their life as the Lightning gang, helping those in need. Until they were trapped one day by the Hidden Mist shinobis who pursued Chino and Fuushin until they arrived at Hell's Valley. With no escape, Chino was able to unlock the full extent of her latent powers, giving her the ability to put people completely under her jutsu and cause them to explode.

'Naruto Shippuden' Episode 488 Preview - The Last One

In the upcoming chapter, Chino could waver in her determination in killing Sasuke, the last of the Uchiha and the object of her hatred. In the brief preview which can be seen below, she questions why Sasuke would go to great lengths in defending Konoha, when in fact it was his village who planned the slaughter of his entire clan, through the hands of his own brother Itachi.

However, Sasuke explains that it is because of a friend who never stopped believing that a better world is still possible despite the odds. Of course, he is referring to Naruto who was patient enough and demonstrated his unwavering friendship making it possible for Sasuke to retrace his steps to what could have eventually ended in a very dark path.

Unfortunately, fans will not be able to see the next installation during the usual Thursday release next week (Dec 29) as the series is on a one week break.
