‘Outlander’ Season 3 Spoilers: Sam Heughan Teases ‘Very Strong And Different’ Storylines

"Outlander" Season 3 is currently in the middle of production, as Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe gear up for the TV adaptation of Diana Gabaldon's third book, "Voyager." In a recent interview, Heughan teases that there will be "very strong and different" storylines for the upcoming season of the Starz time traveler series.

"Outlander" Season 3 spoilers reveal that fans will see "very strong and different" storylines when the Starz drama returns on air. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan explained that the upcoming season will be a bit different from the first two seasons.

Balfe, for instance, shared that since some parts of "Outlander" Season 3 will feature Jamie and Claire's voyage, they will be filming in a different set location - South Africa. Fans are well aware that most scenes of the Starz time traveler series is shot in Scotland, so viewers will definitely be treated to a different scenario next season.

Heughan also told the publication that he has been "really proud" of "Outlander" Season 3. The 36-year-old Scottish actor shared his excitement on the great stories ahead when the show returns on air in 2017.

A new teaser photo for "Outlander" Season 3 was also released via Entertainment Weekly. The said photo shows Claire (Caitriona Balfe) introducing hers and Jamie's daughter, Brianna, to her 20th century husband, Frank (Tobias Menzies).

Balfe told the publication that part of the third season of the show will focus on Claire and Frank's relationship. In Gabaldon's books, Frank is no longer a major character in the show; however, its counterpart in the TV series will show Frank and Claire's relationship in between the 20-year time jump.
