A few months after the "Super Mega Baseball's" official announcement in September, developer Metalhead Software brought the first gameplay video of its new iteration, "Super Mega Baseball 2." Fans of the video game series can't wait to lay their hands on the game's improved version.

Having debuted in December 2014, the original "Super Mega Baseball" was one of the biggest surprises of that year. Considering its success, "Super Mega Baseball 2" could be a game of the year contender next year for sports fans.

However, it can be recalled that "Super Mega Baseball" received negative feedback with its kid-oriented art style. While many loved the game, some found the virtual players' exaggerated proportions off-putting. Sports and video games enthusiasts is going to love "Super Mega Baseball 2," as it will retain its predecessor's cartoony visuals, but with more realistic-looking art style.

Metalhead co-founder Scott Drader, who appears in and narrates the first gameplay footage of 'Super Mega Baseball 2," explained in the video that the presentation of the game series sequel aims to retain the first game's goofiness. He further explained that the vibe of the game has moved in a more mature direction.

"Super Mega Baseball 2" will feature players' bodies that are more proportionally realistic. The wacky look of the characters was one of the best parts about the first game. Drader, expressing how excited he is about the game, said that he looking forward to the gameplay animations conveying a better sense of athleticism.

In addition to that, "Super Mega Baseball 2's" stadiums is going to be more detailed. Metalhead is using a new rendering technology to make surfaces react to light in a more interesting way.

As for its release date, "Super Mega Baseball 2" is scheduled to launch around the middle of 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Stay tuned here at Mobile & Apps for more updates.
