Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Chipset Features: The New Mobile Processor Chip Will Offer VR, Photography & More!
Jai SabharwalQualcomm had already stated that its Snapdragon 835 processor chip would be great. But, we did not expect it to be this great. CES 2017 showed us what the future chip can do. Qualcomm is going to offer more than just a great battery life with the new chipset this year.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor chipset will feature a lot of new upgrades that will help design a new level of mobile experience. One of these upgraded features is virtual reality. On top of that, adding in 25% faster graphics through the Adreno 540 chips. This improves the lags occurring between motion tracking and offers more accurate positional audio experience in the VR. Qualcomm also promises better image stabilisation with the new Snapdragon 835 processor which will enable better focusing while taking pictures.
The new chipset offers support for dual photodiodes in cameras that improves autofocusing. Improvement in photography with the help of merging multiple shots is also an upcoming feature where the sharpness of the images is drastically improved. In addition, the company promises better noise reduction and HDR visual effects.
Higher efficiency is likely to be a possibility thanks to Qualcomm's 10-nanometer CPU which makes the chip size more compact (almost 30% smaller than the 820 chipsets). Also, it is likely to consume 40% less power with 27% faster performance. We assume that this could market thinner smartphones in 2017 and beyond. Moreover, there will be more room for larger batteries after using these chips. Quick Charge 4.0 will enable faster battery charging as well.
For now, Qualcomm is not disclosing the future devices that will embed this chipset in them. But, we do know that the first Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor chips are likely to ship in Q1 2017. A number of devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S8 might have the new chip in them. We can hardly wait to get our hands on the new chip coming up later this year.
