"Star Wars: Episode 8 is coming this year. After the "Rogue One" was released, Star Wars fans are now ready for another movie.

Rian Johnson, the director of "Star Wars" Episode 8, reveals details about Rey and Luke Skywalker in the movie. He revealed the movie will pick up immediately where the episode 7 left us.

Rian Johnson talked in an interview regarding the "Star Wars" Episode 8. He said, he doesn't want to skip two years ahead. He wants to see the very moment of what happens next.

Luke Skywalker appeared in the last part of the "Force Awakens," but Johnson revealed one thing about Luke in the upcoming movies. As the Independent report said, a large part of the "Star Wars" episode 8 will address where Luke was between episodes 6 and 7.

Of course, the "Star Wars" episode 8 story will focus on Rey. As what to the fans' expectations, Rey's training and understanding of the force are one of the main things in the movie.

Johnson also talked about Rey's fate in the "Star Wars" episode 8. "Rey is taking her first step to understand this force inside her that she never knew was there and is just starting to reveal its potential," he said.

Meanwhile, fans are sending questions to the film producers concerning the character of the late actress Carrie Fisher. Following the actress's death in December, Disney confirms that her character Leia Organa will still appear in episode 8.

The actress finished the filming of "Star Wars" Episode 8 last year, months before her death. However, because of her extended role in episode 9, the filmmakers are reportedly making some changes in her scenes in episode 8.

Despite of the plot details revealed by Johnson, the large plot of the story is still a mystery to the fans, even the episode title. "Star Wars" Episode 8 initial release date is on Dec. 15, 2017.
