While fans and viewers are still awaiting updates for the release of the show's new season, series co-creator Dan Harmon explains the complexities in producing every episode of the show. "Rick and Morty" Season 3 release date remains a mystery among fans and viewers, as the last known update about the show is that it is still currently under production. As Dan Harmon previously stated, the upcoming season is more complex to produce as compared to previous seasons, partly because of the success of the show, reports Den of Geek.

"It's been harder this season," he stated.

Harmon explained that there is a level of perfectionism that goes in every episode of "Rick and Morty" Season 3 before it airs on TV. He recounted that there was a particular episode he was already satisfied with, but the others do not share the same sentiments; thus, requiring them to do some tweaks.

As of writing, Adult Swim has released a "Rick and Morty" Season 3 trailer, which was enough to keep fans looking forward to the upcoming season. According to io9, this trailer showed a glimpse into what is ahead for Rick and Morty in the new episodes.

It has been reported that Rick will be able to escape from prison immediately in "Rick and Morty" Season 3. Many fans, therefore, are expecting that Mr. Poopy Butthole's statement about the release date during the season 2 finale credits may be correct and the third season will air in March 2017.
