Adult Swim had announced the production of "Rick and Morty" Season 3 in the third episode of Season 2 itself. It was great news for the die-hard "Rick and Morty" fans but the third season has been delayed for quite a while now. Even now, no official debut date for "Rick and Morty" Season 3 has been announced.. But we have some inside scoop on the subject for the readers. For instance, Don Harmon takes the blame for the lateness.

"I don't have a release date for Season 3. It's not that I know it and I'm not allowed to say it; it's [Adult Swim's] domain. What I will tell you is it's late because of us, it's late because of me. If Justin were here he'd agree. He and I would go, 'Yeah, we fucked up,' and it's hard to put your finger on how we fucked up. 'Rick and Morty' keeps taking longer and longer to write, and I don't know why," said Harmon in an interview while at the Sundance Film Festival.

Additionally, in October 2015 which was the last air month for "Rick and Morty" Season 2, Mr. Poopybutthole proclaimed that the "Rick and Morty" Season 3 will not happen for another year and a half. That calculates as March 2017- a month that has surfaced earlier as the probable month of the debut of the much awaited third season. A few other writers of the show stated that the episodes were already complete on September 28 for "Rick and Morty" Season 3. However, they were pending review from the production house and animation studio.

There have been several teasers released by Adult Swim but we would rather have some full-length episodes! This teaser showed Rick, shrunken to the size of a pickle, battling a pack of rats all by himself- signaling exciting episodes ahead after his hopeful prison-break!
