“Outlander” Season 3 fans, especially those who have already read the books, are well aware that there will be an incoming reunion between the on-screen lovers Jamie and Claire. According to earlier reports, this highly anticipated get-together will take place in a print shop on the Royal Mile.

Caitriona Balfe, who plays Claire Randall, had previously revealed to ELLE that hers and Sam Heughan’s character will soon have a “very heartwarming” and “very tender” moment. This will be the first time that they see each other again after being separated by centuries. “You cannot keep these two apart, really,” Balfe said. She then confirms that the upcoming episodes will show “a lot of Jamie’s life in those 20 years” as well as “some of Claire’s.”

Despite this romantic scene, however, the “Outlander” Season 3 actress revealed that their reunion will also be not without awkwardness. “It is also very fraught,” she added. Balfe continued that such mixed feelings were only expected, for “anyone who has spent any time apart from someone that they love,” especially after Claire and Jamie had not seen each other for a very long time. According to Balfe, this is a common occurrence “even if it is just a long distance relationship.”

“Once you see each other again, you have all the expectations,” she continued. “You have all of the things that you think you will say, the way you think it will go. Life is never like that. I love that it is kind of complicated.”

The events that will transpire in “Outlander” Season 3 are based on the Diana Gabaldon’s third book in the series, “Voyager.” In the book, Claire discovers that Jamie survived the Battle of Culloden and searches for historical records for more details regarding her lover. As previously reported, she will then make her way back to the mystical stone circle and travel back to 1743 in search of him.

A production team has already flown in to the village of Dunure on the South Ayrshire coastline to transform the place into a dramatic 1743 setting. At present, the set now features a line of wooden buildings with a design that depicts that particular century.
